My name is Brooke Searle, I am currently in Year 10 at school and am very grateful to be given the opportunity to become a sponsored rider for Proactive Animal Health.
Here is a little about my riding career and horses so far.
I started riding very young and started pony club at 4 1/2 years old. We never had very good ponies, either way too big, too strong or could buck, but I loved all of them.
Mum finally decided after watching me get eliminated over and over and almost getting turfed again, it was time to get a nice pony and we did! His name was Roy and he was the best. A little Newforest Pony registered name, Forestway Royal Consort, he was only 13.2hh but had the heart the size of Phar Lap I’m sure. From here really started my passion for eventing.
Pee Wee, 14.3hh Welsh/TB, Registered name, Elm Tree Kingsman. Pee Wee also hadn’t done a lot and definitely no eventing. He took a bit longer as he thought the cross country jumps were going to jump out at him, but he was a very talented showjumper. By the end he was winning at Pre-Novice level and ready to start 1*.
I have been very fortunate to have been able to have the experience of riding a couple of different horses, Yoicks Top Deck owned by Isabel and Janet Houghton and also Willandra Jackaroo owned by Pip Durban.
I now currently have two horses competing this season:
My Bascombe Baci (Baci) bred by Bianca Treverton.
And starting my young horse My Bascombe Friend (Friend) an OTT, he will be having his first start this season Pre-Novice.
I am very grateful to Bianca Treverton for this opportunity to start out being a sponsored rider by her Proactive Animal Health business and look forward to hopefully a successful eventing season in 2015/16. My ambition short term is riding at Melbourne 3DE 2016 and long term representing Australia in the future overseas. Fingers Crossed!!
I compete on the Australian Professional Rodeo circuit travelling all over Australia. Based out of the Northern Territory, I compete with my husband Frank and three children at rodeos in QLD, NSW, VIC and NT.
I Barrel Race, Breakaway Rope and Team Rope. In the team roping I compete with my husband, I head and he does the heeling on steers. My children Barrel Race, Rope and Poddy Ride.
